Bellynesian

Irena Sertić Shireen

Kada pokušate spojiti dva egzotična plesa nastaje magija pokreta i emocija: BELLYNESIAN!

-When you try to connect two exotic dances there you create magic motions and emotions: BELLYNESIAN!

this workshop will introduce you to basics and will show the similarities and differences between the Polynesian and Oriental dance.

Bellynesian was created as an idea of entirely new fusion of two very feminine dances that connect fast and impressive Tahitian and sensual Oriental style.

With SHIREEN feel a dance magic of two exotic worlds 🙂

Vlasnica sam plesne udruge Shireen ,voditeljica rekreativne orijentalne grupe Gulbahar, članica romske skupine Romani chaj i hrvatske show grupe Trio Fantastiko koja na festivalu Oriental love 2015. osvaja treće mjesto u kategoriji show grupa. Ove godine započinjem s projektom organizacije festivala Oriental Fusion Stars u Zagrebu.

I am the owner of a dance association Shireen, a head of oriental recreational group Gulbahar, the member of the Roma group Romani chaj and a member of Croatian show group Trio Fantastiko who won a third place at the Oriental Love festival in Belgrade 2015. This year I am organizing Oriental Fusion Stars festival in Zagreb.

I started to dance very early, so I danced folklore for over six years and also trained rhythmics. Fascination with oriental dance led me through schools Zuzana, Nefertiti and Rhythm of dance.

Along the way I learned many styles such as Polynesian , Tahitian , Roma dance. For a while I also was a member and leader of the dance group Nefertiti.

Also, I dance at school of Tihomir Ciglar, a teacher of Latin American dances, standard dances and social dances.

My wish is to show how positive this dance is, no matter if you stay only on recreation, or you do it as professional. It counts only if you evoke the breath of the Orient with much sense of selflessness, so you can share your love of dance with your audience. Because that’s what counts and what makes you unique.

Mahraganat

Aleksandra

Mahraganat is a new style from the streets of Cairo. It is specific because it is actually a free style with no established movements and no final form. This dance originated at weddings because mahrgan literally means wedding. Although there is no specific technique and is a mixture of hip hop, funnkie, reaggeton and oriental dance it has a very specific energy. Also, although it developed at weddings this style carries a large rebellion in itself. More about the songs, the rhythm and technique you will hear at the workshop. Aleksandra learned this style in Egypt by the locals and will bring you the spirit of Cairo streets.

Amani is young school but its teacher Aleksandra Kondić aka Amani Oriental is well known to the audience around the region. She is dancing styles and props that are rarely seen on stage in Serbia and her knowledge and dance experience she is gladly sharing on her facebook page. Skola orijentalnog plesa Amani Her groundbreaking of studing less know n dance styles has built up her dance style. Aleksandra is trying to hold on traditional styles of classical oriental dance as on folk dance styles. Less know styles that she is dancing in Serbia are dance with shamadan ( candelabra with fire) turkish roman havasi, Afghani Logari, Persian dances, Iranian Bandari, poi voi veils and much more. Beside well know and famous dancers she love to study with natives who don’t have any touch with proffesional dance, but have heart and real energy of Egypt which she can bring on the stage. Well known dancer she study with are Leila Molaei (Ir/UK), Simona Jović (Srb/Fra), Katherina Shereen (Cz), Mateja Mikulan (Slo), Jamila (Pl), Aziza (Ca) and many more.

Roman Havasi

Katarina Markov

_____________________________________________________

What is Roman havasi ? Roman havasi is Turkish Romany style which is characterised by 9/8 rhythm . This is a special dance , not a belly dance or some kind of belly dancing . In this workshop we will learn something fundamental about gypsy culture and the style of this dance and rhythm. Some of the steps and combinations we will connect in a short choreography.

Floorwork:

Description: In Egpyt, floorwork as a part of Oriental dance was banned and officially outlawed twice, before it found it’s way up through old traditional egyptian dances and also dances of Old Turkey, North-African tribes and Romani dances. In a big boom of Oriental dance in America, floorwork was a symbol of Vintage Belly Dance industry, combined with elements of burlesque and modern fusions.

Floorwork shows dancer’s flexibility, control of the movements and strenght. It is often performed with props such as swords or candelabrum, because, when balanced, they emphasize slowness and restraint of movements, and that shows us both sensuality and the force of this dance.

At the workshop ‘Rebirth’, as the name suggests, we will pass through the ‘rebirth’ of the movements. All dance movements will be carried out on the ground, for what will be necessary to gain control over your body and strength, particularly in terms of flexibility and our body’s back area.

But the floorwork isn’t only for those who are extremely flexible, floorwork is for those who want to wake up that special sensuality in movements. In this eccentric type of belly dance the whole body is involved, and each shift and pose are of explicit importance. Special emphasis is on slow and controlled movements of the abdomen and soft but pronounced accents of the hips .

Accept the challenge and come with me on a journey in time and place. There, where dance was born. From the earth to the sky!

Dorotea Kovačićek, I was born 1.7.1992 . in Zagreb, Croatia. I learned how to dance and how to love dance itselft through the school of Oriental dance “Plesni Studio Nefertiti’ which nurtures a variety of styles and fusions. I’ve been dancing as a part of Nefertiti troup for 5 years and I currently teach groups of middle and young professional level. What I especially I are Oriental styles that come to the fore contrary: femininity on the one hand and stregnth on the other .
